Q1: What were you doing before HI Five and why did you decide to work in the disability sector?
Previously, I was the Rostering Team Leader for a private home care provider. I decided to move into the disability industry as I wanted to be in a role where I felt I was really making more of a personal impact, and a role where I was able to have more of a hands on approach with my clients.
Q2: What made you stay in this industry?
Being able to go out and see my participants face to face, and be able to see what a difference the Hi Five services is making to them. It is an extremely rewarding role to be involved in.
Q3: What advice can you give others who are just starting out in disability sector and how they will progress in this industry?
The disability sector can be challenging, but also extremely rewarding for those who have a passion for making a difference. Be honest, kind, considerate, and treat others how you would want to be treated yourself!
Q4: What do you love most doing outside work?
You will find me either sitting at home watching movies/playing video games, at a music festival or AFL game as I am a big Collingwood supporter 😎
Q5: Working in disability could be tough, what tips can you give if the going gets tough?
Making sure to practice self-care, knowing that at the end of the day as long as you did your best, that's what matters.
Q6: What’s your favourite go-to-food or activity that makes you feel better 😊?
Playing UNO online helps relax me after a long day!
